MIT has been producing global leaders in marine technology for more than four generations. This outstanding tradition of educating marine engineers and designers can be traced back to one of the Institute’s earliest students, Nathanael Greene Herreshoff, MIT Class of 1870.
This exhibition about the extraordinary Herreshoff legacy will seamlessly interact with an online database of the Herreshoff design record. High quality digital scans of the plans will preserve the visual data, and innovative search and discovery tools will enhance access to the collection.
Generous support of the Herreshoff Legacy Project is provided by Ulf B. Heide ('60) and Elizabeth Heide.
Additional support provided by Anonymous, The Gregory Foundation Trust, and Anonymous.
