Hands-on Science for Families

Ongoing

Explore the intersection of art and science in our hands-on short series designed for families. Choose a topic, then gather the family together as you learn about current and past MIT research and build, experiment, and create.

This short course offering includes three weekly one-hour live sessions led by an MIT Museum Educator, with projects and challenges supported via Google Classroom between sessions.

Each workshop includes:

  • 3 one-hour virtual sessions with an MIT Museum Educator
  • All of the supplies you will need shipped to your home
  • Access to Google Classroom to continue discussion and ask questions as you work on projects in between sessions.

TOPICS

Imaging Science
Learn how to use the physics of light to push a camera to its limits while exploring the unseen world around us. In this workshop we will explore how to use mobile cameras to capture high speed events, the tiniest macro details on everyday objects, and more.
