Teen Science Café: The Technology and Ethics of Genetic Engineering

August 5, 2020

Our popular Teen Science Cafe connecting teens with researchers goes online!

Meet MIT researcher and professor Dr. Kevin Esvelt in this Zoom webinar and hear about his work using innovative technology, including gene drives, to alter the traits of populations of wild organisms in an effort to benefit human health, help save endangered species, replace toxic chemicals used in agriculture, and greatly reduce animal suffering.

In this up-close, interactive session, you’ll have the chance to ask Dr. Esvelt questions about his work and his life as a scientist and engineer, and participate in discussions with Dr. Esvelt and your peers.

This is a free event for interested high school students only.
