Big Data Justice

February 20, 2018, 6-8 p.m.

Numbers can be overwhelming, powerful, manipulative, intriguing ... and what about big data? Join a conversation between Jose Luis de Vicente of Sonar+D, visiting curator of the Big Bang Data exhibition; Catherine D’Ignazio, data researcher and artist, Emerson College; and Joy Buolamwini, poet of code and founder of the Algorithmic Justice League to explore data as a powerful tool that should be carefully considered, as it can be biased, manipulated, and used for good or other purposes.

This program is offered in conjunction with Big Bang Data, on view now.
