State of Emergency: Two Digital Veterans Confront the Future of The Internet

Sherry Turkle (an academic and writer) and Amanda Palmer (an artist and writer) have both been immersed in the complicated universe of the internet - albeit from very different angles - for many decades.

In the wake of the recent election and the current state of affairs surrounding AI and digital communication, they both declare a "state of emergency" in regard to how the digital and so-called "real" worlds are quickly - and dangerously - colliding. Join them for a spirited and necessary conversation about what has happened to bring us here, where we find ourselves now, and where we must be heading.

Books by both authors will be available for purchase on site from the MIT Press Bookstore. A signing will follow the event.
