Honoring the life of MIT Museum's Founding Director Warren Seamans

Honoring the life of MIT Museum’s Founding Director Warren Seamans, who passed away in October 2024.

Warren brought the MIT Museum into existence in 1971 and fortunately had the opportunity to visit the museum in our beautiful new location in Kendall Square. Warren’s vision to share the extraordinary intellectual resources of MIT with a broad and diverse public and draw people into new kinds of conversations about the future of technology will continue to inspire all of us at the MIT Museum for many years to come.

You can learn more about Warren Seamans's founding of the MIT Museum in this interview published by MIT's Center for Art, Science, and Technology (CAST), and in the below video where Seamans reflects on the work of Harold "Doc" Edgerton.
