Donate to the Collections

The MIT Museum’s diverse and extensive collections include more than a million objects dating from the 7th century BCE to today, including prints, rare books, drawings, plans, photographs, films, holograms, scientific instruments, and other objects that reflect the wide interests of the MIT community.

We continue to collect items that document MIT and also engage, instruct, and inspire our audiences. Not all accepted objects are placed on public exhibit, but all will be preserved for future generations. Because of this commitment, we have guidelines for what we accept, and we invite you to complete the donation form below to begin the process. Please do not ship or drop off potential donations until you have approval from a member of our staff.
