Description

In 1933, Course XVI was transferred to Mechanical Engineering, with a separate Department of Aeronautical Engineering established in 1939. That same year, the Wright Brothers Wind Tunnel opened. In 1959 the department’s name was changed to the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
