Description

architecture firm

From 2011 KMW website:

"Architecture, Interior Design, Planning, Landscape Architecture

KMW is a Boston-based firm offering comprehensive design services including feasibility studies, programming, master planning, architectural design, interior and landscape architecture. KMW enjoys an outstanding reputation for excellence in design and project management and execution, extending over fifty years of practice.

The firm began in 1962 when the City of Boston selected the design of the new City Hall by Kallmann McKinnell and Knowles in a nation-wide competition. The building received instant national and international recognition and remains controversial to this day.

The firm developed a portfolio focused on Education, Institutions, Government agencies and both public and private clients and has designed buildings across the country and overseas. These projects encompass a wide range of scales and program types from small museums to an entire teacher’s college.

The firm is now a second-generation practice following the focus and methods established over many years and continues to work in the same practice areas as a design studio based firm."
