Description

Bryant was the first student (of any gender) to receive degree in MIT's Course XII (Geology). She later went on to teach natural science in the State Normal School in Plymoth, New Hampshire and the North Carolina Normal and Industrial School for Women, where she established laboratories in biology, chemistry, and physics.
