Teen Interns at the MIT Museum

The Teen Interns at the MIT Museum (TIMM) program is a paid opportunity for teens to amplify the voices of their peers within the Museum and the community by collecting and interpreting their needs and wants, designing and facilitating STEAM-related events, and sharing their vision for youth and teen programming at the museum. Interns commit to four hours per week for the academic year.

This internship is a paid opportunity for currently enrolled high school students at least 16 years of age.

Interns will:

  • Collaborate with their peers and staff at MIT Museum to codesign youth and teen programming
  • Plan, support, and facilitate programs and events for middle school and high school students
  • Develop skills in communication, collaboration, and hands-on program design and facilitation
  • Contribute to the MIT Museum Engagement and Education team as educators, facilitators, and program designers

Requirements:

  • 16 years of age or older and legally eligible to work (Persons under 18 years of age must present certification that they are legally eligible to work. This Educational Certificate is obtained through your school system)
  • Currently enrolled in high school
  • Willing and able to commit 4-6 hours a week, on Saturdays and occasionally after school, in person at MIT Museum (314 Main Street, Cambridge) November 2023 – June 2024

Hourly rate: $15 per hour.
