Self-guided Visits

Explore exhibitions on science, technology, and current research, from architecture to underwater robots. Discover high-tech objects, research prototypes, intriguing scientific instruments, historic photographs, amazing holograms, and ingenious kinetic sculptures.

Exhibitions and installations are designed for visitors in grade 6 and older. The MIT Museum is not recommended for preschool groups.

Please book at least two weeks in advance. The spring and summer seasons are very busy for groups and availability fills up quickly.

Tours are available seven days a week beginning at 10 a.m. Last group entry is at 3:30 p.m. Tours are 1–2 hours long, depending on your interest. The MIT Museum can accommodate groups of eight up to 75. For groups of more than 75 people, we will work with you to stagger your arrival time or coordinate your visit with other resources and activities on the MIT campus.
