“Carr, Lynch and Sandell led by Jim Sandell, working with the developer Modern Continental, designed the marina and the extension of Commercial Wharf in the center of Boston Harbor. The 14,000sf timber frame marina building sits on a new wharf which continues the public access of the Boston harbor Walk to the Harbor. The marina building also contains other public amenities including restrooms. The participatory design process included wharf residents, North End neighborhood groups and government agencies, including the Boston Civic Design Commission, the Boston Redevelopment Authority and the Army Corps of Engineers.”
