Music and Fine Arts Building, Lowell State College

Contact us about this architectural site

Description

An example of effective participatory architecture.

"Steve Carr was co-principal at Ashley/Meyer/Smith for the design of this $4 million building. Working closely with students and faculty, the building was designed to reveal indoor activities from the outside and incorporated places for outdoor musical performances, seating and pass-through areas. In addition to its primary role in music education, the completed building has become a center for both campus and community cultural life."
