Description

"This unbuilt design utilizes a "habitable bookshelf" approach of open stacks punctuated by reading areas and connected to the existing building by a skylit atrium. Three levels of stacks are compressed into the height of two floors of the existing building, allowing for the needed space to be obtained without blocking any windows of the spaces above and below. Reading rooms, offices, special collections, and work rooms occupy the original high-ceilinged space." Taken From "Imre Halasz, Anthony Halasz", by Gaspar and Timon, 2002.
