Saint John of Damascus Church

Contact us about this architectural site

Description

"The building accommodates a variety of functions for its 400 parishioners: along with the sanctuary there are 12 classrooms for religious education, offices for priests and administrators, conference rooms, community hall, and kitchen. These are skillfully integrated into a single building complex, with the community facilities defining a forecourt for the sanctuary and the classrooms making a quiet internal courtyard. Separate entrances serve religious and community uses." From "Imre Halasz, Anthony Halasz", by Gaspar and Timon, 2002.

Early documents indicate the church was intended to be built in Newton, MA.
