Springfield Downtown Riverfront Plan

Contact us about this architectural site

Description

“Carr, Lynch, Hack and Sandell prepared a plan for the Springfield Riverfront Commission and Amtrak, owner of a six-acre site on the Connecticut River adjacent to downtown. The scheme included 250 units of condominium housing, a 310-unit hotel and parking to serve the users. The plan responded to difficult access conditions: the site is isolated from downtown by I-91, and bisected by active railroad tracks. Its development would be the first step in the revitalization of Springfield's long-neglected riverfront.”
