Project Meteor prototype nose cone

Description
This object is a nose cone with four fins, two of which are attached to small white pointed protrusions. There are wires attached to the underside of the nose cone.
This is a prototype for a homing missile guidance system for Project Meteor, a program to develop guided air-to-air supersonic, radar-homing missiles. The project, which began in 1946, was led by the MIT Dynamics Analysis and Control Laboratory and sponsored by the Bureau of Ordnance of the U.S. Department of the Navy. The project ended in 1953.
