Description

Model of a proposed submarine tanker designed to carry liquified natural gas under the Arctic ice sheet. Model shows a long, wide, rectilinear hull form with movable planes at bow and stern. Most of the hull is painted red, with narrow white topsides and a dark wood grained deck. "General Dynamics" is painted in black on a vertical plane at the stern.

This submarine tanker meant to be 1,470 feet long and 228 feet wide. It was designed by General Dynamics' Electric Boat division to ease transport of natural gas from Alaska to the continental United States.
