Edgerton, Harold Eugene
Subject
Full-color portrait shows Dr. Edgerton from chest up, in suit and tie and glasses; when viewer moves to the left or right, his tie seems to shake, due to his breathing movements being captured during the slow-exposure.
"Using a new color production technique developed by the Spatial Imaging Group, full color holographic portraits such as these have been made possible and relatively easy to produce. The subject was scanned by a 35mm motion picture camera that recorded separate perspective views. Three separate stereogram masters were then produced respectively from red, green, and blue color separations of the footage. The new `pseudocolor' technique was then used to produce this white-light reflection transfer."
