Description

Green cardboard box that contains a puzzle made of twelve brown square and rectangular pieces. The puzzle is missing the spacer piece. Directions are printed on the inside of the lid, and the bottom of box is stamped "331."

This puzzle was designed by Theodore Miller Edison (SB 1923), and was one of the few products sold by his company, Calibron Products, Inc. The puzzle itself is stored in a rectangular case with one of three spacer pieces (now missing). The aim of the puzzle is to use all twelve pieces to create a single rectangle. As it was packaged, the puzzle contained one of three spacer pieces, and could be stored in the box in one of several combinations. Solving the puzzle itself is more difficult— there is only one solution.
