Additional Information

The Turnkey Program was one of two community housing joint ventures between MIT and the City of Cambridge in the 1960s and 1970s (the other was the Northgate Community Corporation). The architectural drawings in this accession represent several stages in the development of the design for the program’s three sites on Clarendon Avenue in North Cambridge, Gore Street in East Cambridge, and Hamilton Street in Cambridgeport, totaling 684 units. The MIT Libraries has correspondence and additional archival materials related to the Turnkey Program (AC 524).
