Description

This item is a monochrome celestial map showing both the component stars and figural representations of the constellations Perseus, Pegasus, Aquila, and Delphinus. It also shows (using a figure of a star with a tail attached to it and a dotted line) the progress of a comet through the area.

Text along the top and bottom reads: "No. 50. Figura Observationis Cometae verni, factae Harlemi: d 3/13 Aprilis 1665 ad Communicat Lugduno Batavam pertinens. Observatio haec exhibet Cometam in concursu rectarum unius a Lucida Aquilae per sequentem duarum in pectore Pegasi & akteru, a lucida Persei per cingulum Andromedae ductarum. B. Stopendaal Schulpsit."
