Description

Monochrome engraving of many mythological scenes, made for the frontispiece of Gyraldi's "Opera omnia". Includes Hercules battling the Hydra at bottom left, Pegasus at the center of the right edge, a man burning on a pyre with a beast opneing its mouth revealing more flames and small devils, and the Greeco-Roman gods, including Poseidon/Neptune with his hand upon a dolphin, at top. Author's name and title on a pillar at bottom right.
