Description

Uncolored map depicting Greenland, with the eastern coast of Canada visible at left, and Iceland visible at bottom right. Bays, islands, and capes have been labeled on Greenland. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn and labeled. Map title printed at top center: "A Map of Greenland, Including the Recent Surveys and Discoveries Made in the Ship Baffin in the Summer of 1822. By William Scoresby Junr." Publisher and engraver information printed in lower margin. A separate label associated with this map states the following: "The two Scoresby's, father and son, were both noted explorers and successful whalemen. Their efforst increased the scientific knowledge of the northern region, particularly along the east coast of Greenland."
