Hand-colored map of Jamaica and Barbados from John Speed's The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britaine (London: Thomas Bassett and Richard Chiswell, 1676). On the verso is a verbal depiction of the two islands that is now not visible due to the map being pasted onto a backing paper. Various sailing vessels and sea monsters occupy the waters.
