"This plate, from an original painting by Ward, of the Victoria Steamship, of 1200 tons burthen and 400 horse power, Charles Bell, Commander, Built in Hull, by Mr. James North, with machinery and engines by Mr. James Napier, and launched on the 20th of June, 1837, the day of Her Most Gracious Majesty's Accession to the Throne, is respectfully dedicated to the gentlemen of "The Original Hull Seam Shippin Company" the owbers of that magnificent vessel by their devoted servant, John Carnley. "
