hand-colored lithograph depicting a sailing barge match that took place on Thursday, July 11 from Gravesend to the Mucking Light and back. The match attracted a large crowd of spectators on steamers following the race. Nineteen topsail barges and seventeen spritsail entered the the race. The text in the bottom margin record the prizes and winners of the race and also record the dedication of the print.
