Description

Colored lithograph depicting the whaleship "Orozimbo," the packer ship "Tartemo," and the steamship "Massachusetts" in the bay of New Bedford. The image was originally drawn by Alban J. Conant and Lane used his drawing to make the lithograph. At the center is a steamboat and other smaller sailing vessels surround it. There are also a large number of whaling vessels lying at the wharves in the distance.

The first steamer owned in New Bedford was the "Marco Bazillero [sic]" the second the "Telegraph," the third the "Massachusetts."
