Description

A scene of a fleet of Dutch herring buss (buis') fishing in the North Sea. The herring buss was a specially designed fishing boat with an onboard processing "factory" that made it highly suitable for long periods away from home. The print shows how the Dutch caught herring by casting out drift nets into the open sea. Men in small boats assist the larger boats in the foreground.
