Plate 24 of 'Historia de la marina real española episodios maritimos' lithographed by J. J. Martinez and others. The print depicts the Spanish Captain Luis de Córdova's capture of a fleet of merchant vessels and frigates at Santa Maria Island in the Azores. Córdova was celebrated as the hero of the day for this defeat of the English Navy. Numerous ships flying the Spanish flag and a combination of the British and Spanish flag sail in the water.
