A port-broadside view of the steamship 'Adriatic' built by George Steers for the Collins Line (formally known as the New York and Liverpool United States Mail Steamship Company). The print is vividly colored. Smoke trails from her two black and red smokestacks and passengers enjoy the view on the upper deck. The steamship is most notable for being one of the first ships to be depicted on a postage stamp in 1869.
