This item consists of a disassembled 2FBG-2-C gyroscope whose pieces are mounted on a green, felt covered board. A plaque on the felt board reads “M.I.T. Instrumentation Lab. / 2 FBG-2-C.”

The 2FBG is a floated beryllium gimbal gyroscope developed for use in Internal Reference Units. This 2FBG-9-F was developed for the skipper system for the Air Force’s Titian II missile.
