Description

This item consists of a disassembled 2FBG-9-F gyroscope whose pieces are mounted on a green, felt covered board and placed inside a tan suitcase. A plaque on the felt board reads “2 FBG-9-F / M.I.T. Instrumentation Laboratory.”

The 2FBG is a floated beryllium gimbal gyroscope developed for use in Internal Reference Units. This 2FBG-9-F was developed for the MIT Pace II system.
