Original Caption: "Professor Niels Bohr, Ph.D., (born 1885). Physicist and atomic research-worker. After passing with distinction his examinations of the University of Copenhagen and obtaining his doctor's degree when only 26 years of age, he studied for several years at the laboratories of J.J. Thomson and E. Rutherford in Cambridge and Manchester. When barely 30 years old he was entrusted with the professorship of Theoretic Physics at the University of Copenhagen. He was also appointed director of the "Institute of Theoretic Physics", Copenhagen, where numerous Danish and foreign physicists have devoted themselves to the study of atomic science. In 1922 he received the Nobel Prize. A great number of honours and distinctions have been conferred on him by scientific bodies throughout the world. Picture shows the professor at the cyclotron in the "Institute of Theoretic Physics" in Copenhagen. Professor Bohr is the chairman of the Danish Commission of Nuclear Energy.
