Original Caption: "To Captain Luis de Florez, '11, the Robert J. Collier Trophy for 1943 was presented by former Vice-president Henry Wallace at ceremonies in Washington commemorating on December 17 the 41st anniversary of the Wright brothers' epochal flight. Director of the Special Devices Division of the Navy Bureau of Aeronautics, Captain de Florez has led the development of complex and effective means for training air crews. This work, parts of which were described in The Review for November, is signalized in the Collier award, which is made each year for the 'greatest achievement in aviation in America, the value of which has been demonstrated by actual use during the preceding year.'"
