George W. Dunlap (left) demonstrates how to use a voltage analyzer to Gerard Swope and Willis R. Whitney. All three men won awards from the American Institute of Electrical Engineers in 1942. Original caption: "From News Bureau, General Electric Company, Schenectady, New York. Release Wednesday, PM, Jan. 27, 1943. General Electric Trio All Medal Winners. Three of the four medals awarded by the American Institute of Electrical Engineers were received by General Electric men. They are, left to right: Dr. George W. Dunlap, engineer, recipient of the Alfred Noble prize; Gerard Swope, president, winner of the Hoover medal, and Dr. W.R. Whitney, scientist, winner of the John Fritz medal, highest of all American engineering awards. In the picture Dr. Dunlap is demonstrating the voltage analyzer on which he based his prize winning paper."
