Doolittle of McCook Field won the Schneider Cup Race at Bay Shore Park, Baltimore, Md., and shattered every speed record in the world for planes that fly from the water. Flying in the Bettis craft that won the Pulitzer trophy, Doolittle's average speed for the allotted seven laps over the 50 kilometer triangular course was 232.575 miles an hour.
