Original caption: "Smithsonian gets invention -- A helium gas liquefier, a milestone in low-temperature research, was given to Smithsonian Institution at Arthur D. Little Inc. ceremonies. Viewing the Collins cryostat are its inventors, from left: Prof. Samuel C. Collins, Dr. Charles F. Squire and Dr. Howard O. McMahon, executive vice president of the Cambridge firm. Machine, built in 1947, creates coldest fluid known to man."
