Original Caption: "A grant of $70,000 from the American Cancer Society will advance the development of high voltage x-ray generators at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where the funds will enable a research team to explore the medical applications of supervoltage x-rays up to 5,000,000 volts. Dr. Edward L. Moreland (left), executive vice president of the Institute, received the grant from Arthur T. Lyman, president of the Massachusetts division of the American Cancer Society, beside one of the latest type 2,000,000 volt x-ray generators developed under the direction of Dr. John G. Trump."
