Description

Model of the paddle steamer Betty Alden. Model shows a narrow, sleek hull topped with three wide decks for passengers. There is one small, feathering paddlewheel on either side, under the name "Betty Alden" in large letters. The model is painted white above the waterline, with grey decks and brown benches for passengers.

The Betty Alden was built by the Atlantic Works in East Boston for the Nantasket Beach Steamboat Company. She carried passengers from Boston to recreational destinations on Massachusetts' South Shore, including the popular Nantasket Beach in Hull.
