Description

The steamer Excalibur was a Windsor-class attack transport built for World War II by Bethlehem Steel's Sparrows Point Shipyard. When launched in 1944, the ship was named Dutchess, with the official number APA-98. At the end of the war, the Dutchess was decommissioned, sold to the American Export Lines, and renamed Excalibur.

All evidence of wartime use has been removed, leaving a smart black hull with white superstructure, dominated by multiple buff cargo booms and winches.
