Description

Operational pond model built by MIT students and sailed in the Charles River. 'Beaver' is designed after contemporary sailing yachts, with a sharp bow, small transom, and long, gradual overhangs. A deep fin keel is capped with 70 pounds of lead ballast. The rudder is separated from the keel. Decks include cabin details reminiscent of a larger yacht. A full sailing rig with spars and sails is included.
