Description

A steam launch built to serve as a cutter for a U. S. Fish Commission research steam vessel Albatross, built in 1882 by Pusey and Jones in Wilminton, DE. Albatross was one of the earliest American large vessels built for scientific and fisheries research. The vessel had a very long career and was finally decommissioned at Woods Hole, MA in 1921.
