Description
This compound monocular microscope has a main body tube with an eyepiece on top and knobs on either side of the main body tube. It has one objective, a circular and rotatable stage, and a horseshoe base. Serial humber 193880.
This type of instrument is a petrographic microscope used to examine rocks and minerals, and the rotatable stage allowed the user to view samples at every angle. It was used by MIT Geology professor Waldemar Lindgren from 1920 to 1933.
