Odyssey IV
Description
3D printed model of an Odyssey IV-class autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), designed in Solidworks 2007 CAD and printed with a 3D printer. Black hull with yellow bottom. Top not included to show major mechanical and electrical components inside. Mounted on a 3D printed gold base.
The Odyssey IV was developed by MIT's AUV Lab, associated with the Sea Grant Program, and launched in 2008. It was an early AUV capable of stopping and hovering underwater and ran on a lithium-ion battery.
