Description

The Brown Instrument Company was a manufacturer of industrial controls and electronic measuring instruments/ It was founded by Edward Brown in 1857 originally to sell a pyrometer he developed (the first pyrometer designed in the United States), though the firm later branched out into other instruments, including thermometers, hygrometers, tachometers, ammeters, and voltmeters. The company became a division of Honeywell in 1934.
