PerkinElmer, Inc.

Description

In 1955, they developed the US’s first commercial gas chromatograph, the Model 154. In 1999, the Analytical Instruments Division of Perkin-Elmer was purchased by the non-government side of Edgerton, Germeshausen, and Grier, and the firm’s name changed to PerkinElmer. Since then, PerkinElmer has grown in the life sciences industry thanks in part to the acquisition of the Analytical Instruments business from PE Corp, NEN Life Sciences, and Packard BioScience Company.
