Contact us about this organization

Description

Voland & Sons began as Voland and Van Zelm in 1888 by Peter Gottfried Voland and Henry Van Zelm, both employees at the Becker & Sons Balance Company. The new company specialized in both analytical balances and assay balances for prospectors in the California gold fields. Upon the death of Van Zelm in 1903, the company became Voland & Sons. The company continued making balances under that name until it was sold to AN Systems, Inc. in 1989.
