Ahmeek was designed for the Royal Canadian Yacht Club Syndicate to defend the International Canada’s Cup in 1914. The race was cancelled due to World War I, and Ahmeek was eventually purchased by Charles Francis Adams of Boston and raced successfully in Boston and Long Island Sound.
Another yacht, Britomart, was built to the same design as Ahmeek by Hodgdon Brothers in 1914. Britomart raced in the Class P fleet in Massachusetts Bay, winning several championships before being wrecked during the hurricane of 1938.
